Great Congressman

BABLA SALOOJEE

Babla was pushed to his death from the 7th floor of the 'Security Police' Headquarters in Johannesburg. The chief interrogator on the scene was the then Captain Swanepoel. Babla was a great Congressman, a tireless fighter for the cause of the people's freedom. A backroom worker, he was modest and loyally performed tasks given to him by the Congress Movement. He actively participated in the planning of routes to those leaving the country. Even in the face of death he refused to surrender!
