Johannesburg, South Africa
Goldblatt devoted all of his time to photography since 1963. His professional work is for a broad variety of editorial, corporate, advertising, institutional and professional clients. His ongoing personal work consists of a series of critical explorations of South African society, several of which have been exhibited and published in book form. Goldblatt’s body of work in our archive dates from the 1950’s onwards and includes a number of important photographic narratives about South Africa, its people and it’s architecture.
He founded the Market Photography Workshop in 1989 in Johannesburg, with the object of teaching visual literacy and photographic skills to young people, with particular emphasis on those disadvantaged by apartheid.
