Nairobi, Kenya’s capital city, has a population of approximately 3.5 million people with perhaps over 6.5 million people in the greater metro area. It is culturally diverse with people of most of Kenya’s 42 tribal groups represented as well as Europeans, Asians and Somalis. The Kikuyu tribal group are said to make up 20% of the city. It is the commercial centre of Kenya and continues to attract people looking for jobs. There is a considerable amount of building happening including a number of high rise structures build primarily by Chinese companies.
