Description A part of the wetlands in the West Coast National Park. The West Coast National Park was proclaimed in 1985 and supports a rich diversity of marine invertebrates and seaweeds as well as approximately 10% of the wader bird population in South Africa. For this reason the park, which covers some 40,000 Ha, has been proclaimed a Ramsar wetland of international importance.
