Description A ROAD LESS TRAVELLED: Boundaries in Dr J. V. Larsen's Career. As a Senior Consultant in rural Zululand he assisted clinics and hospitals all over the region in setting up a referral system of health care which over the years saved the lives of hundreds of women and their children. He did this at considerable cost to himself. Under the apartheid homeland policy, my father was forced to work part time for two administrations - KwaZulu and Natal - which meant he did not get an adequate pension from either. Yet he obeyed what he felt God had called him to.. Photo: David Larsen/Africa Media Online
