Description AFRICA, KENYA - All the work in the process of getting the gold is done manually. First the stones fresh from the mines are beaten down into manageable pieces using a mallet. The pieces are then set between two harder stones and are ground into fine powder. They take the powder to the river and wash it off until a small residue of gold is left at the bottom of the metal basins.(Photo by Africa 24 Media/ Stephen Digges)ALL RIGHTS RESERVED.
