Thousands thronged to Nakivubo Stadium, Kampala , to see the soccer match betweeen Ugandan government ministers and foreign diplomats. The crowd was particularly interested in seeing their president, General Amin, in action with the team. The 43-year-old soldier had been known as a man of action. Hence the now popular slogan of “government by action”. Having pledged to assist liberation movements in Southern Africa, General Amin made an all-out effort to help raise funds for the movements in response to a special appeal launched by his foreign minister, Mr Wanume Kibedi.
