An injured sea gull runs a shore and is fed a sardine at the Mtwalume beach.Like the runnig of the bulls in Spain, the migraition of the wildbeast across Kenya, the sardine run along South Africa’s East Coast is an annual event attracting thousands of locals and tourists. Each year massive shoals of sardines stretching hundreds of miles draw thousands of sharks, dolphins and gannets hovering above the fish.Masses of fishermen, locals line the shores to watch, catch and some sell them to make a living by selling a pocket of 1 kilogram for $ 1 US dollar seen at the Mtwalume, some 75 kilometres south of Durban on 19June 2005..It has been dubbed as the ” Great shoal on Earth ” by marine scientists.
