IPMG0242: Uganda, Lira, July, 2003. A child wears a crucifx as a talisman against attacks by the Lord’s Resistance Army (LRA) rebels in northern Uganda. This household was utterly looted of food and belongings by the rebels. The LRA has been terrorising Uganda for 17 years, and abducted over 1,000 children to be used as soldiers and sex slaves in just June 2003. Photograph by Greg Marinovich / South Photographs
