IPMG0624 Liberia, Tubmanburg, 2003: The leader of the Liberian rebel movement LURD, Sekou Conney Jnr, waves to his fighters and supporters in the town of Tubmanburg September 23, 2003. This was the first time Conney had been back in Liberia for three years, and his bodyguard are all Guinean Special Forces. The LURD movement forced the then-incumbant Liberian president Charles Taylor to negotiate exile in Nigeria. There is currently a transitional government in place in this West African state.
