Home-based care workers visiting a family in Mpophomeni, KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa. The workers are part of the Ethembeni HIV/AIDS Ministry of the Howick Community Church. This is a faith based, registered NPO that functions to serve the community in the area around Howick, in the KZN midlands, South Africa.The organisationÃâââ¬â¢s main goal is to provide spiritual, emotional and practical assistance to families affected by HIV & AIDS in the Howick/Mpophomeni area. This is achieved through two programs: 1.A community care programme to people affected by HIV & AIDS, providing home based care support, food security, clothing, the ability to become self-sufficient, psychosocial support and counselling;The number of families on the programme fluctuates between 48 to 52 per month.With regards to ARV treatment, good links have been established with the CDC Clinic in Howick, where we refer clients for ARV access.
