August 2002 Aids activists belonging to TAC (Treatment Action Campaign), spread through the local townships to distribute pamphlets and condoms to residents on a day earmarked to raise awareness of the issues in these communities (Community Day of Action). Activists in different communities handed out information, condoms, painted TAC and HIV/Aids slogans on walls.
