Description: DM2001022004:SAED:MUSIC:PERSONALITY:MAR1963 - We Rememember You All - J. Gwangwa with Dollar way back. Seems like I'm getting old: seems like it especially when I look around the place these days for the familiar character who feels inclined, like myself, to a can or two or three of the hard stuff and a few laughs. Seems like I'm ageing fast 'cos the guys and gals I'm looking for aren't around anymore. Fact is, a whole lot of them are warming up frost bound London. Description: DM2001022008:SAED:MUSIC:PERSONALITY:20MAR1969 - Dollar Brand Quitting Again 'No Scope Here' - Only nine months since his return to home town, Cape Town's renowned jazz pianist, Dollar Brand, has once again decided to pull up his roots and leave for the Continent. To many people, especially hardened jazz enthusiasts, his decision has come as a great shock. His return , they claim, gave Cape Town's jazz scene a new life but it may now slump back into non-existence. At the moment his busiest assignment is a composition he is writingfor the Danish Radio Orchastra. It is a piece for seven instruments which does he describes as a tone 'poem'.On his last visit to Copenhagen, Dollar arranged quite a number of works for the same orchestra, which perfomed them on television.
