Description: Table Mountain, Cape Town. 31 January 2006 This fire flared up suddenly, apparently caused by burning embers remaining from the earlier fire of last week being fanned by high winds. Helicopters and ground crew were brought in to bring it under control before it could threaten adjacent houses in Bridle Road, Oranjezicht. Last weeks fires, allegedly caused by a British tourist discarding a lit cigarette, devastated large parts of Table Mountain and Lions Head. The tourist has been arrested and charged.
