Description: A man braves the muddy road conditions to pull his cart loaded with building materials through the streets of Kibera. Kibera is Africa's largest slum with over 550,000 people (one out of every five Nairobians) living in very confined and squalid conditions. The rains have produced very muddy city streets, but business must continue and the cart must be pulled through both flooded streets and mud. Rusty tin-roofed shacks line the street behind, many operating as little shops and stores.

Description: A lady minds her vegetable stall in Kibera slum outside Nairobi. The entrepreneurial business brings fresh fruit and vegetables into Kibera, providing fresh food for those people who can afford it. The shopkeeper's child plays on the pavement beside her mother's stall, too young to go to school yet. Kibera is the largest slum in Africa, home to over 550,000 people, which constitutes one in every five people living in Nairobi.
