Description: Resting at the head of a valley in the little 'berg, surrounded by Giants Castle Nature Reserve, Richard and Mouse Poynton have transformed the Poynton family's rustic fishing retreat into one of South Africa's top gourmet getaways. Famous for having established Granny Mouse's County House in the Kwazulu Natal midlands, the Poynton's sold the hotel in 1993 and took to the road working with some of Europe's top chefs for three years. Two years ago they returned to create a personal retreat with the finest attention to detail.Mouse has indulged her first love of interior decorating transforming former stables into homely rooms, each decorated around their own theme. The interiors of the main building burst with character, from the pile of old leather suitcases in the lounge to colanders turned into lamp shades in the dining room.
