Description: Young Liberian soldiers aligned to the goverment, patrol in Klay Junction, 37 km away from Monrovia, Liberia on Saturday Feb. 16, 2002. The possesions on the floor belong to displaced Liberians who fled an attack on Klay Junction on Thursday Feb. 7. Little is known about the insurrection that has plagued Liberia off and on since 1999 displacing an estimated 60 000 people. The government blames a rebel movement, humanitarian workers say at least some attacks appear to have been waged by the government's own soldiers while back in Monrovia, some people accuse the government of stage-managing the conflict to avoid elections scheduled for next year.
