The Venda culture uses drums and marimbas for religious activities. This little man is having fun playing it. I used a low shutter speed (1/25) and only natural light to capture his movement.

Description: A wooden pulley block from the sunken slave ship the Sao Joseis displayed at The Slave lodge, a museum in Cape Town. The pulley is undergoing conservation. It is one of several recovered artefacts, which a joint American-South African diving team have brought up from the sunken slave ship, the São José-Paquete de Africa, which was recently identified in Cape Town. The discovery of the wrecked slave ship off the South African coast in which more than 200 captives drowned marks a milestone in the study of the slave trade said the Slave Wrecks Project (SWP) which is a joint project with the Smithsonian Institution, George Washington University, Iziko Museums of South Africa, the South African Heritage Resource Agency, the U.S. National Park Service, Diving With a Purpose and the African Centre for Heritage Activities. About 400 slaves captured from Mozambique were on board the ship which was wrecked on rocks in Cape Town. The ship was carrying the slaves from Mozambique to Brazil when it was wrecked in 1794. The crew and some of the captives were rescued. It was previously misidentified but recently from old archives divers reinvestigated the shipwreck and found artefacts proving it was the slave ship.
