( Pieter Dirk-Uys is the founding member, former trustee and present patron of the Trust) . The swimming pool and centre were openedon 16 December 2009, Reconciliation Day. He was president of South Africa from 25 September 2008 to 9 May 2009 after Thabo Mbeki resigned. He was known as 'caretaker president. He was a member of the ANC's military wing Umkhonto we Sizwe during the struggle against Apartheid and was imprisoned for 10 years on Robben Island. When he was released he became general secretary of the National Union of Mineworkers.     Description: Australopithecus Sediba on show at the South African Museum, Cape Town 24.04.2010. Australopithecus Sediba , was found in a cave in Malapa, South Africa.( about 40km from Johannesburg). Two skeletons skeletons believbed to be an adult female and young boy were found alongside other animals in the cave. They are believed to have fallen into the cave and died about 2 million years ago. They are believed to be the 'transitional species'or 'missing link' . They are the most human-like australopethicine yet discovered, providing valuable clues to the evolutionary changes that led to the genus Homo.They were taken to Cape Town for a short period for the public to view at the South African museum in 2010, but are housed in Johannesburg.

"We have scored a great victory for justice and peace," Tutu told the many protestors. "We Shall Overcome," was sung by the marchers as they walked arm in arm from St. George's Cathedral through the city centre behind Archbishop Desmond Tutu, Mayor Gordon Oliver and the Rev. Allan Boesak, president of the World Alliance of Reformed Churches. "Peace in Our City!" and "Stop Killing Our People!" was on banners.
