The culmination of week-long festivities to celebrate the Final Draw for the FIFA World Cup to be held in June 2010 was held in Cape Town's entertainment hub in Long Street.  City Council officials claim that over 50,000 people descended on the City Centre to watch the Final Draw live on 2 large screens being held at the nearby Cape Town International Convention Centre (CTICC).
The Long Street Party passed off largely peacefully and fans from around the world blended harmoniously with South Africans in an event widely heralded as a great success.
