To safeguard those involved in gathering the information and records that could further the objectives of the organisation, it was imperative that those gathering such information should remain anonymous. As a result, the creators of material held in the ANC Archives is often unknown and thus, unless otherwise stated, this asset is considered an orphan work and is made available to license on the basis that it is in the public good to enable the material to be used to tell the story of the ANC and of the liberation struggle in South Africa and around the world. Wherever possible we would like to identify rights holders ensuring that they are correctly credited and that there is an agreement in place to enable us to license on their behalf.
