In advance of today's festivities, the invited children have been examined and treated by a team of orthopaedic specialists and physiotherapists. Many of them have been given life-changing wheelchairs. The event has the backing of the Nelson Mandela Children's Fund. Nelson Mandela was born on the 18th July 1918 in Mvezo, a small village in the Eastern Cape.
