The circus experience is a first for most of the children, as well as for the country's president! Later in the day, Nelson Mandela took the opportunity to speak to sponsors and business people gathered for the event about the importance of civil society working together to ensure that the needs of disabled children are incorporated into every programme for children. The event has the backing of the Nelson Mandela Children's Fund.
