Headline:UrbanscapesTitle:UrbanscapesDescription:Some aspects of the city of Pietermaritzburg in KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa. Pietermaritzburg is one of the oldest cities of South Africa, the city fathers like to call it the City of Choice. The photographer John Robinson ended up back in the city when he had to leave Johannesburg while walking into the mist seeking out a dignified and beautiful place.
Pietermaritzburg is not a perfect city by any standards, it is located in a geographical bowl straddling the Msunduzi River, it is a juxtaposition of many people and things. A city that many people just pass on their way to and from the cities of Durban and Johannesburg on the bisecting N3 highway.
All these spaces are public or easily accessible to all the people of Pietermaritzburg. Though many people in this city prefer to live out their lives behind their own high walls or in office parks and malls that have visible security. Non the less these spaces remain as evidence of human intervention. 2023, Pietermaritzburg, KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa.Sublocation:Scottsville RacetrackCity:PietermaritzburgProvince or State:KZNCountry:South AfricaDate Created:09-08-2023Creator:John RobinsonCredit Notice:John Robinson / african.picturesPixel Dimensions X:6240Pixel Dimensions Y:4160Keywords:
