Headline:Historic GrahamstownDescription:Seen on the right is the winged figure of Peace on a monument, second right is the Settler Memorial Tower and on the left is the Anglican Cathedral Church in Grahamstown in the Eastern Cape of South Africa on Monday November 8, 2004. The monument is to "the Men of Albany" who lost their lives in the Anglo-Boer War of 1899-1902. The sculpture is by Stanley Nicholson Babb and Rudyard Kipling specially wrote the inscription.The Settler Memorial Tower was built to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of the British Settlers' arrival in 1820. The City Hall was publicly opened on 24 May 1882.
