Description: Paramedics stabilise Keith Holiday. Holiday had made it up to the top of the Drakensberg up Organ Pipes Pass with the assistance of other members of the group but had suffered on day two as we descended Tseketseke Pass. That evening at the Tseketseke Hut he got up from a camp fire talk and with stiff legs stumbled in the dark down a steep bank hitting his head on a rock at the base. He knocked himself out cold and when he came around was not in a good way. Brent Corcoran and France Makoane hiked for several hours in the dark to climb a ridge to phone for help, arriving back just before dawn, while other members of the team nursed him through the night. Just after 8 am the rescue helicopter arrived first dropping paramedics and once they had secured Holiday coming back to land on extremely uneven ground to airlift Holiday. The i-Trail is part of a rites of passage process known as i-Generation run by Pietermaritzburg Christian Fellowship aimed at fathering a fatherless generation.

Description: Paramedics, members of the Mountain Club of South Africa, and fellow hikers load Keith Holiday into the South African National Defence Force rescue helicopter.
