The rich, the poor, the retired and the unemployed: they are all to be found in the mosques. The floors of the mosques are lined with carpets, some ornate, some threadbare. Worshipers shed their shoes before entering. It is difficult to be precise about the number of Muslims in West Africa, since in most territories religious statistics are not recorded in the census. Description: DM2008061908:EAED:POLITICS:PERSONALITIES:APR 1979 - The Invasion That Went Wrong - Abandon Army Issues: Military uniforms and pictures of the" Life President" lie discarded under a tree. The war between Tanzania and Uganda continues to rage on with the initiative still with the Tanzanians backed by Uganda exiles and supporters of ex-President Obote. One marked aspect of the war has been the lack of information emerging from either side. The Long war with Tanzania has backfired on Amin and his followers, Kakwas, Nubians and Anyanyas and few pure Ugandan opportunists. The war started with the mutinies in a few military units in the Chui Regiment, Gulu, where about 60 soldiers were killed with the excuse that they were robbers. The same thing happened in Mbale, Malire, Mbarara, Masindi and Tororo. These mutinies occured because of lack of food and the delay in payment of salaries for over two months. He is on the move all the time, the pennies jingling in the pocket without the hole, and wearing out his unmatched pair of shoes one size eight and the other size seven. Why? Hassan has one dream in his dusty life to become a great news photographer. At first he had a camera, a museum piece, picked from some rubbish dump. It was too broken and too old to take pictures.
